Hendrick48, I posted a thread on the "Off Topic" board about a week ago concerning Pennzoil Platinum synthetic oil. No one replied at all, so I am bringing this message to all of you on this board.

I own a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS which I only drive in the summer. It is a very high performance car. I only use Sunoco 94 octane as fuel. However, due to the high price of fuel these days and the protection I require in this severe environment (Canada) I decided the bulk oil from my dealership was not sufficiently adequate for my car. When conventional oil heats up it boils off and leaves heavier components behind causing wear and sludge.

Pennzoil Platinum stays at a constant viscosity and does not boil off and makes for effortless start-ups in winter. If you read the literature from Pennzoil you will understand that their research deals with the molecular consistancy of synthetics as opposed to crude distillates which tend to go off spec on a regular basis.

This is what I have experienced since I have used this lubricant in my car:

1) quieter idle and smoothness
2) more horsepower and smoother acceleration
3) better mileage. I get 700 kms to a 60 liter tankful, whereas before I could only squeeze 590-600 out of a tankful!
4) instead of 5000 kms for changeout, now it is 8000 kms.
5) in high heat situations such as waiting at the US border to cross over into the states, the cooling fan comes on less often and there is no idle ocillation.

When I come upon a good product I like to pass it along so others can enjoy the chance to make their engines last longer and perform better.

I'll bet my PINKshirtthat all of you who try this will be happy.

I use Q HorsePower synthetic, best synthetic oil on the market
(even Ferrari recommends using it)
