The long awaited and eternally postponed Can-Am DVD "Speed Odyssey" will finally ship from California to Toronto Motorsport today (Tues Aug 12/08). Typically, it takes 3-4 days to arrive baring customs. This means we should have available in our shop Friday - Tuesday.

We apologize for delay after delay from the producers of the DVD, but are confident, this will be the very best racing DVD of the year and well worth the wait.

Can-Am's are some of my all-time favorite cars and some of the fastest ever raced.

What goes from 0-200 mph in 10 seconds??? I'm sure the DVD will shed some light on the answer.

I look forward to receiving mine. Thanks TOMO!

We need a review ASAP...I just need to know if it's half as good as the trailer :)

Incredible footage!! It was like being in a time warp for an hour and a half.

My only complaint, is that I wanted more.:D:D

just got mine today courtesy of our hosts. going to sit down with a couple of martinis this evening and take a trip down memory lane. i'm lucky in that i saw the can-am series and the usrrc series(can-am's predecessor) from 66/67 till 1973 at mid-ohio, the glen, and mosport. to this day i still rate it as probably the most impressive mix of cars and drivers anywhere.

Couple of questions:

Does the DVD give an account of each Can-Am season?
Lots of period footage as the trailer suggests? How is the audio (engine sounds etc?)

Yes, it goes season by season. Lots of period footage? It's all period footage.

My only beef is the narration. Yes, Posey was there but I find him a crushing bore to listen to.

Incidentally, I understand that this might be the better choice, for those who prefer on track action, over the also newly released Can-Am Thunder DVD. It features a lot of round table talk and various still photographs. It might also include archival footage, but I haven't seen the whole thing.

Hi Johnny...Thanks for the reply

I've actually since watched the DVD...
IMO Sam Posey isn't the problem per se. It just seems he's just reading a very dry script and I agree it comes off pretty lifeless. I've heard Sam in person and he's a great storyteller...You wouldn't know it from the DVD that this is the same game guy accused off waxing lyrical too often!

Anyway, the footage is astonishing - priceless - (and the obvious post production sound dubbing very well done) but my general reaction is the DVD could have been so much better. Virtually no history of context regaurding creation of the Can-Am or its demise and other very obvious gaps...
