Here is an article by Marshall Pruett of SPEEDtv.com on Audi's possible full-time return to the ALMS in 2011.
Pruett discusses the various teams Audi is likely to partner with since Champion Racing closed its doors after Audi's withdraw several years ago.
He lists some interesting names (Highcroft, Penske, and Grand Am's Wayne Taylor Racing) and the pros and cons for Audi in each team.

very cool news indeed!
hopefully it is true, i'll need to check with a buddy.
if Audi does return, could this spur other manufacturer's to do the same?

Well now, that is good news (potentially). ALMS needs a boost and this just be what the doctor ordered.

It's interesting to see that the online poll has more than 58% of the vote going to Wayne Taylor Racing and less than 5% going to Penske.

I picked Highcroft as I thought they'd be the best bet.
Penske would have that top tier thing that could scare other manu's/teams and WTR is GA, not ALMS.
I just thought HR would be the best fit, totally professional but family oriented.

I voted for Highcroft as well.
Penske is simply too big, and I remember what they did to Can Am with the Porsche 917's.
And while Wayne Taylor seems to be a good outfit, I sense they are just a wee bit too small and taking on the Audi effort might be too much for them.

Well, I guess this is a mute point now... http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/alms-marshall-pruett-audi-cancels-2011-plans/

Damn, now I am disappointed.
ALMS is a mere shadow of its former self, and this will not help matters.

Well that is disappointing. Hopefully they'll at least get the GT program running??? :(:(:(

Not unexpected for me. I couldn't see them running a full season against the small, combined prototype ALMS field.
